A networking gala dinner and awards ceremony concluded the ITLG Silicon Valley Global Technology Forum last night at the Limerick Stand Hotel.

During the two-day technology forum, the delegation from Silicon Valley met with a shortlist of almost 50 Irish start-up companies who pitched their innovative technology solutions to the investor panels. Led by Craig Barrett, chairman, ITLG and Limerick-born John Hartnett, president ITLG, the forum came to a close with the announcement of winners from a total of 12 finalists.

FeedHenry, a company which provides solutions to companies for mobile applications, took home the ITLG DigiCell Mobile Essentials Award. GNEO won the ITLG DigiCell Mobile Disruption Award, creators of an app which provides an online to-do list, allowing users to manage and prioritise day-to-day tasks. While Adoreboard from Queens University Belfast took the University Challenge Award, a tech start-up that uses academic studies on emotion to measure the feelings people have towards brands on social platforms.

“We look for a company that shows the best global opportunity for a very early stage company in the ITLG University Challenge, and having received entries from over 20 third level institutions all over Ireland, the Queens University company, Adoreboard, showed us that real potential,” said Cian Hughes of the ITLG.
