Nominations are now open for the 2016 Company of the Year Award ahead of the Business & Finance Awards 2016 taking place on December 15th at The Convention Centre Dublin.

Since its launch in September 1964 as Ireland’s first business magazine, Business & Finance has celebrated over 50 years delivering insightful news, comment and analysis to and about the Irish and international business community.

Is association with professional service firm KPMG – a company at the heart of business in Ireland with 80 partners and over 2,400 people based in Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Galway – the Business & Finance Awards Programme was established in 1974 and over the past 42 years it has become the longest running and most coveted business awards programme in Ireland.

The Business & Finance Awards has built a legacy of recognising business excellence at domestic and global levels with events in Dublin, London, New York, Washington DC, Hong Kong and Shanghai, honouring the most outstanding business, political and social leaders of our time.

Businessman, political activist, songwriter and author Sir Bob Geldof will be honoured for his Outstanding Contribution to Ireland at the 42nd Business & Finance Awards. Geldof is one of Ireland’s most successful exports and is known throughout the world for his many talents and passions.

Susan Whelan, CEO of Leicester City Football Club will also be honoured with a Global Irish Outstanding Achievement in Business Award at the awards.

Dublin-born Whelan has played a pivotal role in Leicester City’s incredible success as this year’s winners of the Premier League. An astute business woman, Whelan has worked extensively in trade and retail. She began her career in her family jewellery store, moving on to work with Aer Rianta before taking up a number of retail jobs working internationally.

Business & Finance recognises excellence in business through the Company of the Year award, which recognises the company best demonstrating outstanding business leadership, sustainable growth, innovative strategy, strong financial returns and employee development.

Previous winners of the award include: Primark, Smurfit Kappa Group, Paddy Power, Google, CRH, Intel Ireland, First Active, United Drug, Ryanair, Iona Technologies, Airtricty, Glanbia and 2015 winner Kerry Group.
